Humility

One of the benedictine virtues I am currently grappling with is humility. I want to dive deeper into this the upcoming week and listen to what others have shared about this.

Peace,

    1. A warm welcome Maria!

Thanks so much for your comment. That’s really an encouragement to me.
If we want to practice the rule we have to take it slowly but steadily. One step at a time. In the moment.

      Blessings. Ester

  1. I love the quote at the top of this blog post. Does that mean that pride is the opposite of humility or just an ‘enemy’ of humility?

    1. Dear David thanks for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate.

I think pride is indeed the opposite of humility. Pride can be the opposite of humility in two ways.
First one is false humility which has nothing to do with humility at all. It’s acting like you’re less than others or worse than others in order to gain attention, pity our to feel good about yourself.
Second one is pride in the form of superiority and arrogance. Feeling better than others.

we don’t need to be doormats or behave like we think we’re God.
      Humility is about being right-sized.
